    Button (Office 2003)

I installed a program on my computer and then uninstalled it. All traces of the program are gone except in my office apps where i still see the button to "sync up with privia". When i try to customize the toolbar i cant remove it. Any ideas?
    Thanks

    Long time no see!

Which toolbar contains the button? One of the built-in toolbars such as Standard or Formatting, or a custom toolbar?

Probably add-ins for Microsoft Office were not removed. Depending of which version of Office do you use, check Startup folder in Program FilesMicrosoft Office for .dot files ( for Word toolbar) and/or Xlstart folder for .xla files (for Excel toolbar) created by uninstalled program.

Hans, it is the standard toolbar.
    I will check those folders.

I checked for .dot and .xla files in those folders but no luck.

Tried with the standard "reset" buttons?
    - or will it take away other customizations as well?

Which of the apps is it in?
    Bests,

PS: Wish there were a knob on the TV to turn up the intelligence. There's a knob called "brightness," but that doesn't work

If it comes back, there MUST be a template or add-in that loads it. See Phil Rabichow's <!post=Systematic Approach to Behavioral Problems in Word (97/2000),197827>Systematic Approach to Behavioral Problems in Word (97/2000)<!/post>.

Normal.dot is stored in a subfolder of a hidden folder, so in order to be able to find it, you must show hidden files and folders (this is a setting in the View tab of Tools | Folder Options... in Windows Explorer). Ifs default location in Windows XP is in

    Cocuments and Settings<username>Application DataMicrosoftTemplates

where <username> is your Windows username. Application Data is a hidden folder.

Note: If you have never customized anything in Word, it is possible that you don't have a Normal.dot yet.

    Re: Button (Office 2003)

I changed settings so I can see the hidden files and renamed normal.dot to normal.old and this seemed to fix the problem.
Thanks to everyone for their input
