    Auto Numbering (Word 2000)

    Can anyone tell me if it is possible to have two auto-numbering schemes going at the same time in the same document? I have Word 2000 documents generated by another department which have the auto numbering function used in the header, these documents can't be changed and I need to incorporate them. Therefore, I need to have ANOTHER auto numbering system going on in the footer, so that page 1 in the header of the document can also be page 51 (for example) in the footer. I don't want to go into the Master Sub doc system for all the obvious reasons.

    I have a feeling that I'm out of luck, but thought I'd try the experts just in case.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Re: Auto Numbering (Word 2000)

    You can insert a calculated field in the footer:
    - Press Ctrl+F9 to insert field brackets { } (do not type the brackets yourself, that won't work)
    - Type =
    - Press Ctrl+F9 to insert another pair of field brackets. You should now have { ={ } }
    - Type the word Page between the inner brackets.
    - Move the insertion point to immediately after the first closing bracket }
    - Type +50. You should now have { ={ Page }+50 }
    - Press F9 to hide the field code and update the result.
    - To view or hide the field codes again, press Alt+F9.
