view doesnt display all the text (OfficeXP SP3)

    HI

I have a word document. When Im in Page layout view - the last paragraph on each page only displays the 1st line of that paragrah.
If I change to Normal view - the last paragraph displays in full.

    i know its something simple
    any ideas?
    many thanks Diana

Hidden text, comment and tracked changes balloons, drawing layer objects like (certain) pictures and text boxes... there are a lot of differences between Normal view and Print Layout view that might explain the discrepancy. Or maybe it's just a bug?

Looks like a bug to me. I just had a similar problem with Tools, Track Changes.
Sometimes Page Layout and Print Preview are even different. I've still got a document that even Print Preview is different to what actually gets printed.
Page Layout is certainly a complex business. Word does have (occasional) layout failings. That's why Publisher, Pagemaker, Quark, In Design still have market share.

Following on from Jefferson's and Peter's suggestions, I often find that tracked changes can cause this kind of issue. You set Word to not show the tracked changes on screen and in theory you then see what the document will look like when it is finalised. But in practice you can get some parts that don't show up in Page Layout view, or only show up if the cursor is in that bit of the document. What I often do to check that the document will in the end turn out like I want it, is save it, then accept all the changes, then look through my document, then undo the 'accept all changes'.

A bit of a pain to do, but sometimes the only reliable way.
