Fax problem (Windows XP Home - Office 2003 Student-Teachers)

Since I installed Office 2003 I have been getting the follwing error message:

Microsoft Visual C++ - Runtime Library
    Assertion failed.
    Program: Ssystem32spoolDRIVERSW32X863HPENG04.EXE
    File: P:hpojfaxojfax.cpp

The message also tells me to check the documentation in VisualC++ for asserts
    and JIT must be enabled.

I don't know what any of this means. How do I get my fax machine working again?

This appears to be a problem with the Hewlett Packard software. Researching this, the suggestions I have seen that solve the problem involve re-installing the software and also making sure you have up to date drivers/software.

Based on the file name it appears to be an HP Officejet so look here for updated software.

Thank you for your response. I should have noted in my first post - I uninstalled the HP Officejet 7110 software when I first had the faxing problem. Then, I went to the HP site and downloaded new drivers and new software. The problem remained. I went to the site you referenced but was unable to find an answer to corresponded exactly to my problem. I did check other HP support sites and probably found the solution but didn't recognize it. Could you please suggest further assistance.

I have done some more searching but have been unable to find anything specific with the only suggestion being about reinstalling the software. Hopefully another Lounger can assist.
