    set printer input trays - can you set output trays (OfficeXP SP3)

    Hi

    I have code which sets the printers input tray.

    You can obtain the printers input tray > by recording a macro & going to File>Page setup> click Paper> select the Paper Source for the 1st page> select the Paper Source for all other pages.

    The code will give you the interger for that tray number eg.
    With ActiveDocument.PageSetup
    .FirstPageTray = 257
    .OtherPagesTray = 257
    End With

    Do you know if you can obtain & set the output bin for a printer? as our printers have 3 output bins. for different print jobs I want to be able to specify the output bin.

    many thanks diana

    AFAIK, there is no VBA property or method to set the output bin. The easiest workaround is to define three different printers, one for each output bin, and to print to the appropriate printer. Else you'd have to contact the manufacturer of the printer to ask if there is a printer API for the model you're using.

    The Print Wizard let you specify print jobs with any installed bin as the output target.

    It doesn't.
    But if you understand a mixture of VB and German, there's some interesting code here .
    Browse down to "EnumPaperBins". "Download" in German means "download".

    thanks for that.
    yes i know of this website & its quite a good website.

    unfortantely it only specifies printer input trays not printer output trays.
