Slow dialogbox on opening/saving (XP (Dutch))

Goodmorning,

Can anybody tell me why the following occurs?!
When I try to open or save a document (mostly Word docs, but also Excel docs) in another folder than the default one, it seems to take ages before I can select another (sub)folder.
I already tried the Help option Analysis and Repair, but unfortunately it didn't work.
One of my colleagues has the same problem -> he thinks it's a big caching problem. But I can't find a thing which indicates he's right?!

Does anybody of you have the clue!

It took some time, but I've tried all the options mentioned in the post, but they still won't work.
Any other suggestions? (except for throwing the pc away or doing a complet new installation?)
