    Underline Problem (Window 98)

    hi guys,
a newbie here, just a problem that vexed me forever,
i'm designing a basic form (no vba) for users to answer.
    for example:
    Name: _____________
the problem is when the user types the answer, the underscore moves along leaving the answer not underlined.
is there a way to fix this or a way around it such that
1)i can show an underline acrross the page
    2) when the user types the answer, the underline is not undermined in any way?

    any suggestion is greatly appreciated

    cheers

    Hi xlite

I don't know whether it will work in your case, but I'm a great user of tables for forms. Put the Title in one cell with no underlining, and then use the table borders (bottom of cell) in the next cell to underline what the person fills in.

It is a nice easy, but smart format which possibly for people much smarter than me, allows picking up the data fro a database later.

    Hope this works for you

I also use tables for this purpose, with borders on cells that the user will fill in. There are a number of alternative suggestions on http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/TblsFldsFms/LinesInForms.htm.
