Turn Off Request for Virus Scan (Office XP)

Whenever I open Word it takes an extra moment or two to open a new blank document while it requests a virus scan. I've looked and can't seem to find a setting to turn this "feature" off. Is the switch in Word or in my Norton AV program ??

Hi Doc

The setting is in Norton. Within Norton Antivirus options go to the Miscellaneous section and deselect "Enable Office Plug-in"

It's probably the Office Plugin. It can be turned off without harm as long as the main NAV protection runs.
Open the main NAV window.
Click Options...
Click Miscellaneous (or Other, I forget)
Clear the check box "Enable Office Plugin".
Click OK.

Thanks to you too, Hans. Tony left out the "Options" part and since I don't fool with Norton's settings that often it helped me get to the Miscellaneous section without hesitation.
