    Switchboard limitation (2000)

    Hi,
Is there anyway to add more than 8 options to the switchboard?
    Thanks,

It is possible to customize the switchboard, but increasing the number of options is not a very good idea in my opinion; I would prefer to create new switchboard pages in the Switchboard Manager.

If you want to modify the switchboard, open it in design view.
Select the last command button (Option8) and duplicate it (Edit | Duplicate). The associated label will be duplicated too.
Rename the new button to Option9 and its label to OptionLabel9.
Set the On Click event for both to =HandleButtonClick(9).
Repeat if you want to add more options.
Activate the code module of the form.
    Change the line

    Const conNumButtons = 8

    in FillOptions to

Const conNumButtons = 9 ' or whatever the number of buttons is

You won't be able to add more than 8 items to a switchboard page using the Switchboard Manager, you will have to do this directly in the Switchboard Items table. If you open it, you will see how it works. The Command field contains the codes for the actions the Switchboard can perform; see the HandleButtonClick function in the form module for the meaning of each code.

    Thanks Hans,
I am using other switchboards but I have 2 of them where I need about 9 or 10 items. I'm looking at it now to see if I can break it out into other swithboards. Thanks Again!

It's highly recommended that you figure out a way to split the menu into smaller sub menus as Hans suggested - we have expanded it a couple of times and regretted it each time.
