Customize the Cross-reference dialog boxe (XP)
I edit scientific reports all day. A major requirement is cross-references, and our standard for cross-refs to tables and figures is to use only the label and number. Unfortunately, that's not the Word default, and every time you switch from tables to figures, the dialog box reverts to the default.
Here's my question: can I customize the dialog, either to make "Only label and number" the default, or to remove all the other choices completely?

Re: Customize the Cross-reference dialog boxe (XP)
That particular dialog is known to be very buggy when you try to control it from VBA. Expect problems. (see http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...kb;en-us;209668 for one such bug.) SendKeys is likely to be your only reliable option.
(Don't mean to be a Gloomy Gus here, but I wasted a lot of time trying to customize that dialog myself some time ago.)
