    colors of quarters (2003)

I have a spreadsheet that has a 12 month running total of job performance. Like Jan03-Dec03, next quarter is Apr03-Mar04, next is Jul03-Jun04,etc. The number of jobs varies each quarter and I wondering how I might be able to conditionally format a cell based on the date(10/6/2003) to a specific background color for each quarter?
    Like Lt green=Jan-Mar, Lt yellow=Apr-Jun, Lt Terquoies=Jul-Sep & Tan=Oct-Dec.

    thanks,
    jackal

I will assume they start in A1 (change as appropriate in formula). Select A1 to whatever for all the cells
Format - cells-pattern (tab) click on lt green <ok>

    Format - conditional formatting...
    Formula is:
    =INT((MONTH(A1)-1)/3)=1
    [format]
    Pattern(tab)
    lt yellow <ok><add>
    Formula is:
    =INT((MONTH(A1)-1)/3)=2
    [format]
    Pattern(tab)
    lt turq <ok><add>
    Formula is:
    =INT((MONTH(A1)-1)/3)=3
    [format}
    Pattern(tab)
    lt tan <ok><ok>
