Original email remaining alone (Outlook 2003 on XP PRO SP1)

Sorry about the heading. When an email arrives, and I reply to it, the original email is no longer in the Inbox but rather with the reply. I would prefer to be able to find the original, as well as having it appear on the bottom of the reply. Is this clear, and, if so, is it possible?

    Thank you in advance.

    1. Under Tools | Options | Email Options there are two dialogs for "When replying to a message" and "When forwarding a message". Have you adjusted those settings?

    2. Under Tools | Options | Email Options | Advanced Email Options there is a checkbox for "In Folders other than the Inbox, save replies with original message". Is it checked?

Just wanted to say thanks, John. Item 2 was the problem and I'm now very happy.
