    Text box outlines disappear (W 2002 SP3)

I have recently received a new laptop running XP Professional and Word 2002 SP3. When I open a Word document that has drawing objects in it, the outlines of text boxes and other drawing objects are not visible, however, the text within the text boxes is visible. Pictures within a document is also not visible. These documents are OK as they can be viewed OK on another computer.

I can get the pictures and drawing object outlines to appear if I force the screen to refresh but when I scroll down or go to another page the objects are not visible.

I cannot find any Word options to fix this problem. Can anyone please help

If strange things occur when scrolling up and down, often the video display driver is at fault. Whether to risk other disruptions by updating, if an update is available, is your call to make. Note: it usually is best to check with the system or add-in board manufacturer for display driver updates, rather than trusting the more generic stuff sometimes available on Windows update.
