Email address added to contacts automatically (Outlook XP)

    Hello Outlook gurus,

I seem to remember that there is an option to automatically add any new Email address from your Inbox to your Contacts. I have looked everywhere in the application and cannot find where this is set. Can you help?

    Regards,

    Jocelyn

I'm not sure Outlook has that option... could it be an Outlook Express feature? Anyway, for an alternative approach, particularly with all the spam flying around these days, see <post#=478430>post 478430</post#>.

    Thanks for your quick response,

Outlook Express definitely has this feature but I wasn't sure whether Outlook had it also. I was working on a friend's computer today and they had a number of addresses in their Contacts list and they said that they hadn't put them in there. So I assumed that there might be the feature to add the email addresses automatically to the Contacts as I have seen in Outlook Express.

    Cheers,

    Jocelyn

See this page at Slipstick, where they write:

Unlike Microsoft Mail, neither Microsoft Exchange nor Microsoft Outlook 97 includes the option for automatically saving recipient or sender addresses. Outlook 98 and Outlook 2000 add this as an option, but just in Internet Mail Only mode. For other versions of Outlook, you must use one of the add-ins below...
