    CODECS for Windows Media player

I had to reinstall my machine. I had previously been advised to install some CODECS, to enable me to see some video I had saved. Now Media Player can't show me this video, and I can't seem to find the necessary CODECS. Any ideas please?

You can download codecs from Microsoft Windows Media - Codec Installation Packages

If it is not one of theses codecs then you will need to tell us what format the videos are in.

(Edited by HansV to make URL clickable - see <!help=19>Help 19<!/help>)

Or go to http://www.free-codecs.com/ and download the k-lite codecs. Its about every codec known to man.

Thanks, aenigma! I'd seen a reference to the K-Lite codecs, but had never tried them. The full version works very well in XP Pro, and does wonders for Adobe Premiere. Thanks again. All of my client's machines will now get a copy. Great stuff. Hope I can return the favor sometime.
