Track Changes (2002 10.2627.6626 SP3)

Is it possible to turn off formatting tracking within track changes, so that you do not see every format change, and see only text edits?

As far as I know, you can only turn track changes on and off.

Hi Susan,

It should also be possible to code a macro to turn off track changes when the format menu item is selected one of the toolbar formatting buttons is pressed, then turn it on again once the formatting is done.

A bit beyond my ability, though.

Cheers

Hello, Hans,
Thanks for the further info, but as you said, that is beyond my ability. Not so sure it would be worth my time at this point.
Best regards,
Susan

Do you need to remember these inconsequential revisions or can you accept those ones to remove them from view? You could use a macro to accept any revisions that are not text related. The following macro shows some of the revision types which can be selectively accepted.

Sub AcceptFormatRevisions()
Dim aRev As Revision
For Each aRev In ActiveDocument.Revisions
Select Case aRev.Type
Case wdRevisionStyle, wdRevisionDisplayField, wdRevisionProperty, _
wdRevisionParagraphNumber, wdRevisionParagraphProperty
aRev.Accept
End Select
Next aRev
End Sub
