    Organising Folders in Favourites

I have lots of new folders in IE5.
When I click Favorites/Add/CreateIn - IE5 displays all folders alphabetically. However if I just want to view folders they are displayed in chronilogical creation order.
Sure you can organise Favorites folders by manually moving them BUT I have many. Is there a way to automatically organise folders alphabetically for normal viewing?

    Good morning, capital.

The folder settings where IE gets the Favourites from should be sticky. If you go to your desktop and click on My Computer and navigate to the folder (c:WindowsFavourites on Win9x machines) you can then click on the View menu option and select Arrange Icons by Name.

Thanks for your suggestion. I did as you instructed BUT this
does not change what I get if I go to Favorites directly in IE5. i.e. the listing is still unordered. I guess the best thing to do is to use the Windows folders in conjunction with IE5, that way I can get an ordered list BUT it's a bit messy.

You must sort each folder by clicking each one, then close IE and re open IE. If you are using the 'Favorites' list one the left side of IE close it and restart it after restarting IE.
This seems to WORK most of the time. You do NOT need to logoff of your ISP, just close and restart IE.

    Hope this helps.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

Just had the same irritation - nothing like being up to date, huh? - and found this thread.
    Hurrah for loungers!
    I'm using W2000 and IE5 version 5.00.3315.1000
I couldn't sort out what DaveA's post meant, so by trial and error I found that I could sort Favorites by dragging and dropping folders into aIphabetical order. Having done this I thought of right clicking on a folder <img src=/S/doh.gif border=0 alt=doh width=15 height=15>.
LO - an option to "Sort by Name". Clicked this and Robert's your relative!

If you want another neat trick, click Favorites and then - holding down Shift - click Organize Favorites, and your Fave's folder opens in an Explorer window.
