Open PPT Show with Excel VBA (Excel 2002)

    Hi all,

Could someone kindly show me how to start a PPT Show (*.pps) from Excel. I have a worksheet button that will trigger a macro that must start the show!
I have been fussing with the CreateObject and Shell functions in VBA, and just can't get this "show on the road!"
Please post some sample code to open, say... a show called Test saved in a PPTShow folder on the C: drive!

    Hope this is clear!

    Thanx
    Regards,
    Rudi

Why don't you create a hyperlink? No code needed.

Very true, but its also part of practicing my coding! I very rarely attempt to create code to open or control another appl., so I was attempting this in VBA, and could not get it running. So the post is more for learning sake that for functionality!
    Thanks

    <img src=/S/rofl.gif border=0 alt=rofl width=15 height=15> <img src=/S/clever.gif border=0 alt=clever width=15 height=15> <img src=/S/surrender.gif border=0 alt=surrender width=31 height=23> <img src=/S/bravo.gif border=0 alt=bravo width=16 height=30>

    I'd say that is good enough! I guess I should learn to get out of the <img src=/S/boxedin.gif border=0 alt=boxedin width=25 height=20>

    PS: I notice you have a duplicate smilie: KING and KINGSMILIE <img src=/S/king.gif border=0 alt=king width=21 height=22> ??? Any reasons?
    Regards,
    Rudi

Another option would be to use the ShellExecute API function. See the thread starting at <post#=254691>post 254691</post#>.

There are some peculiarities with the latest update of the smilies panel, but it's harmless.

Great...This looks promising. I'll give it a go!
