access 2000 upgrade to Access 2003 problem (Access 2003)

My company recently upgrade from Access 2000 to Access 2003. I noticed that I didn't have to convert my dbs to be able to use them with Access 2003. I do have one problem I hope somebody can help me with. I have a db which is in access 2000 which has been converted from access 97.. I have security on this db. I use a shortcut (path pasted below) which uses the /wrkgrp to invoke the password login. I can open the db in access 2003 ok. But when I go to open a table it tells me permission denied. Any thought on this? Thanks...

    Target box of shortcut:
    "C:Program FilesMicrosoft OfficeOFFICE11MSACCESS.EXE" "D:Vch2000VCH2000.mdb /WRKGRP "D:Vch2000Voucher.MDW"

    Start in:

    D:

This seems more than a bit odd - is the data in a back-end and you are opening a front-end. Access 2003 should be able to read a 2000 format data and it's associated .MDW file with no difficulty.

Your right wendell. It's a front end back end.. Both in access 2000. I think your right it's not reading the .mdw file. Any thoughts as to why? Thanks...

Can you enter the database with the owner's login ?
To see who is the current owner, select Tools / Security / Users and Group Permissions and select the tab Change Owner.
Can you then modify the tables ?

You could try setting the default security file to that file using the Tools / Security / Workgroup Administrator menu and see if simply starting Access and then opening the file lets you work. If that works, the problem is with the shortcut. If not, you may have a problem with ownership as Francois suggests.
