    Excel Object to Powerpoint (VBA/2k3)

    Can one pass an object created in Excel directly to a Powerpoint slide? Thanks.

    The easiest way to do it is interactively, using copy and paste (or paste special). If you want to do it all in VBA, you need to use Automation, i.e. control one application from another one in code. See <post#=307913>post 307913</post#>.

    Thanks Hans. If I understand everything I've read so far then there is no way to transfer an Excel worksheet object to Powerpoint (via VBA) and also retain the ability to edit the worksheet (in Powerpoint), correct? I can currently transfer the object as a picture, but I do have the ability to edit it if I need to.

    If you copy a range of cells in Excel, and select Edit | Paste Special... in PowerPoint, you'll have several options. You can paste as an Excel worksheet object, with or without link to the original Excel workbook. In both cases, you can edit the cells by double clicking the object on the slide.
    The VBA equivalent of this is the PasteSpecial method: to paste without a link, use

    Application.Windows(1).View.PasteSpecial DataType:=ppPasteOLEObject

    and to paste as a link:

    Application.Windows(1).View.PasteSpecial DataType:=ppPasteOLEObject, Link:=True

    where Application is the PowerPoint application.
