    Re: Personalized Google homepage

    Hi Tony,

While we are on the subject of Google, I have been trying to change my language preferences to English search results only.

Following advice from the google techs, I check the radio button for English only search, click save these preferences and it comes back saying they have been saved. I wait for it to set a cookie and allow it in my cookie program.

When I go back into Google, there it is back to the default all languages. I can't seem to get it to stick.

I just tried changing my language preferences and the changes stuck.

Have you tried deleting the cookie and letting Google create a new one? I am clutching at straw here but the only other things I can think of are do you have an program that automatically cleans up your settings whenever you quit your browser that may be deleting the cookie. Another possibility is if you have the Google toolbar then try re-installing it.

    Re: Personalized Google homepage

    Hi Tony,
Yeah, deleting the old cookie was part of the procedure google recommended. It does set a new cookie ( google.com PREF ). I use AnalogX "cookie wall" to preserve wanted cookies and the new cookie does appear there OK.
I even disabled Cookie Wall but still the same thing.
Reinstalled toolbar as part of a spring cleaning job on my HDs. No change.
So far as I can remember there isn't any settings being used that will cleanup cookies after exiting the browser. I don't remember this EVER working right on my system, Annoying !
