    Horrible pop up nuisance!

I've been trying unsuccessfully to get rid of a pop up nuisance which has installed itself on my tool bar. It diguises itself as a genuine alert, usually in the form of a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark. If clicked on, it leads to a Tiscali 10.0 page listing anti-spyware sites, or to MSN messenger advertising porn sites. I've run Spysweeper, which found Common name and CWS, and this has been deleted (I think.) Trojan hunter found l possible trojan, but won't delete 'possibles'. I ran AVG Free Edition---this found 6 Trojans, but was unable to delete any of them, in fact, I couldn't even see a delete button! Adaware hasn;t reported anything significant yet AND I've updated all the definitions on everything! I've also done ll the stuff like turning off system restore and running antispyware in 'safe mode' . Any ideas what to do now? Would be grateful for advice, esp. as I'm getting conflicting messages from my anti-spyware programmes.

Try installing and running Microsofts Anti Spy ware program.. That thing really works. got rid of everything including browser hijackers.
    Thanks John

Let's try to get things straight with the free stuff first. Have you downloaded Microsoft AntiSpyware beta yet ?? That one's <img src=/S/free.gif border=0 alt=free width=30 height=15>. What, if anything, did it turn up ?? If that didn't fix things, my next suggestion would be to get either Webroot's SpySweeper, $29.95, or Sunbelt's CounterSpy at $19.95. Both are rated among the best at finding and clearing malware. If they are unable to get you back on track, post back and we'll take it to the next level. Many thanks---I do have Spysweeper already installed. This kept finding CWS, deleting it, and then the damn thing ket getting reinstalled. I found an updated version of Adaware, and ran that in 'safe mode', at which point something new appeared--apparently 'low risk' but capable of invading with unwanted popup ads. The 'horrible pop-up' now seems to be at bay! (Fingers crossed.)
