    Append Query (2K2)

I have a website that produces a csv file for data entered into a form. This data contains information that I would like to import into a table. Each client can request up to 10 events they would like to host. All 10 events and the client info are listed in 1 record in the csv file. The csv file is

Either create multiple append queries, or create a union query and use that as the source for the append query.

Thanks for the response Mark...Could you give me any pointers on how to create a union query that would solve my dilemma?

Without knowing anything more about the input or output table layouts, I can only give you a general hint. something like this:

Select Event1 from tblDataImport where Event1 is not null UNION Select Event2 from tblDataImport where Event2 is not null Union Select Event3 .....etc.

I had attached sample with my original post. Data is imported from a csv file to tblDataImport and then appended to tblProposed.

    Re: Append Query (2K2)

See attached version. I created two queries: a union query and an append query based on the union query. The union query may return more records than you intended, I can't judge that. If so, either change all instances of UNION ALL in the union query to UNION, or set criteria in the union query or append query.

Thank you very much Mark and Hans for again saving me before my brain turned to mush. Your assistance has me headed in the right direction and the union query is perfect. I am in your debt. <img src=/S/thankyou.gif border=0 alt=thankyou width=40 height=15>
