Subject edited by HansV to specify application

    Hi
    1.
How do I distinguish between the two situations shown in the attachment. (In other words, is the folder "active" or is an item in the folder "active"?)

Is there a handy primer on Outlook VBA somewhere? I'm having great problems even working out which questions to ask, let alone finding the answers.
    Thanks for your help
