    Outlook Attachements (Outlook 2003)

I have forgotten how to set Outlook so that it will receive Access (.mdb) files. If anyone out there can help, I would appreciate it.

    Hi Alan

You can edit the registry or use an add-in designed for this task. See Opening Attachments Blocked by the Microsoft Outlook E-mail Security Update for details.

Of those add-ins listed, I use Attachment Options by Ken Slovak.

Download and install Ken Slovak's free Attachment Options add-in. This will add a tab page to the Options dialog in which you can edit the list of blocked extensions.

(Note: because of the size of Access databases, I always send them zipped and ask others to do the same when sending to me; this usually results in a 70 to 90 percent reduction in size.)

    Hi Hans,

Is it possible to create zip files using VBA code? I'm having problems with other people's Outlook programs stripping off my .htm attachments. My IT department suggests turning them into zip files first, but it would take me too long to do this manually for each email.

    Thanks, Kevin

WinZip has an "Outlook companion" that can be used to zip attachments automatically - see <A target="_blank" HREF="http://www.winzip.com/prodpagewzcou.htm?wzhcoui">WinZip
