    XP Home Security Tip

In Windows XP Home Edition the default administrator account is used to login to safe mode. By default the password is blank. It has been said that there isn't a way to change that.

    Here's how ........
Go to Start > Run and type cmd and click OK.
At the prompt type control userpasswords2
A user accounts dialog will come up.
You will see all the user accounts listed.
Put a checkmark in the box that says: "Users must enter a username and password to access this computer"
Select Username "Administrator" from the Group "Administrators"
    Click on "Reset Password"
    Enter a password.
Then Click "Apply" then Click "OK".
Then, for peace of mind, change your account password. Just in case someone knows it already.

That's it !! Your system is now secured to prevent unauthorized access.
