repeat record data (2000 and above )

I know "CTRL ' " will copy (repeat) the previous records information into the record directly below but I am really unsure how to get a macro to do this automatically. Any ideas? i.e RECORD 1 Yellow
    RECORD2
    RECORD3 Purple
    RECORD4
I want yellow to repeat into record2 and purple to repeat into record4

If you want to do this automatically in a new record, see How to fill record with data from previous record automatically in Access 2000.

If you want to update existing records this way, you'd use DAO or ADO code, but you's have to define a sort order, for records in an Access table don't have an intrinsic sort order. If this is what you need, please provide detailed information.
