    Desktop icon (XP-Pro SP2)

I've just got a new XP workstation, to replace my old workstation which ran Windows2000.

I used to have a 'desktop' icon in the bottom righthand corner of my screen (the 'notification area'?). This allowed me to go straight to the desktop, which I sometimes need to do to run a shortcut located there (but not on my Office toolbar), without having to minimise all my many open applications one-by-one.

I can't find how to re-instate this icon under XP-Pro.

    Anyone help?

    Thanks

    Neil

    Hi Neil

    A couple of methods:

1: Seach for a file on your system called "Show Desktop.scf". If it does exist then highlight it and drag it to the quick launch toolbar.

2: How to Re-create the Show Desktop Icon on Quick Launch Toolbar

Also, you can use a keyboard shortcut - Windows key + D.
