    Hyperlinks in forms (Access 2000)

    Hi all,

I am having trouble getting hyperlinks to work in a combo box in a form. Table contains hyperlink field, form references that field, the format property Is Hyperlink is set to yes. The hyperlinks work fine in the table.

However in the form, while initially the "text to display" is displayed in the combo box when it is selected the display changes to the full path ie doc1#../../../DOCS/End Users.doc# . Although a hand appears indicating that the hyperlink is active, when you click on it nothing happens.

Any idea what I am doing wrong?

Try creating the combo box anew. If that doesn't help, could you attach a stripped down version of the database? See <post#=401925>post 401925</post#> for instructions.

    Hi Hans,

I have attached a zipped version of a sample database. I have tried this a number of times. I also added a hyperlink to a url (woodys lounge) ... same thing.... it works in the table but not in the form.

Sorry forgot to mention ... I have been testing this in Access 2003 but the actual database is Access 2000, getting the same issue in both cases.

The problem is that the Bound Column of the combo box is 1, i.e. the hidden numeric column. You can make the hyperlink work by setting the Bound Column to 2, or by changing the Row Source to

    SELECT Hyperlink FROM Table1

and setting Column Count to 1 and clearing Column Widths.

Changed the bound column to 2 and it worked like a charm ... thank you very much for your help
