    Driver continually needs re-installing (XP/SP2)

I have an Olympus digital voice recorder that I can connect to my laptop and down/upload recordings to/from my laptop via a USB cable. However, I have to re-install the driver EACH time I start up my laptop, which is very annoying!

Any ideas how I can stop this happening please?

Seems as though your driver installation is corrupted. First, make sure you have the most current driver from Olympus. Second, backup your system. Then, uninstall any software through Add/Remove Programs in the Control panel. Then uninstall the hardware through Device Manager. Search the registry and remove any Olympus recorder related entries. Look at the driver CD to see the name for the .inf file. Search for the file and delete it. Last, install the drivers according to the Olympus directions.
