Summation within group footers (Office 2000 / Windows 98)

I wonder if anyone can help me with this summation problem?

I have a report that lists the amount of money pledged to our church. It is sorted and grouped by whether or not the person is a Taxpayer. In the tax payer footer of the report the amounts are summed with =Sum([AmountPledged]) so we get two amounts. Therefore at the end of the Non-taxpayer section there is a total and at the end of the Taxpayer section there is a total.

The tax that can be claimed is calculated with =IIf([Taxpayer]=0,Null,Sum([AmountPledged]*22/78)) so at the end Non-taxpayer section the amount of tax is of course nil and that the end of the Taxpayer section the tax to be reclaimed is shown

So a Typical report might be

    Non Taxpayers

Can you add a taxamount control for each record, with a control source: You could set its visible property to No if you don't want them to show.

    =IIf([Taxpayer]=0,0,[AmountPledged]*22/78)

Then sum these in the section footers and the report footers.
    Regards
    John

    Hi John

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you it was the Bank holiday and I was not allowed to play with Access!

I did as you suggested and it worked fine. Thank you so much
