    C:\i386

    Hi,

I've never noticed it before, but evidently there's a folder on my hard drive called "i386" (C:i386).

I have no idea what it is, and its nearly 1 GB size makes me curious.

Any clues? Also, is it safe to delete? Many thanks.

Many clues here: Google Search: i386 folder
It would be inadvisable to delete it, unless you have quite specific reason to do so.

This is usually placed there by the OEM you puchased the computer from. The install path in the registry was then changed to the C:i386 folder so that windows will go there when it needs the install disc. You will never be prompted to put in a disc. I put one of these folders on all my laptops and desktops to make life easier. Bottom line, it is a good thing. IMHO
