Finding Max and Min values of a recordset field

I want to put a footer in a Report (see Report2 in the attached file).
Since the MaxDiEnergia field in the PerReportMese table has the maximum value in two records(942720 in July and May), how can I have the text22 text box show both dates?

Re: Finding Max and Min values of a recordset field

Hi,
I've attached a zipped db showing one way of doing it (I've only done the Max, you can apply the same principles to Min).
Hope that helps.

Stratospheric thinking

Quite a different approach to the one I took and which prevented me from displaying all the dates relevant to the maximum value.
Thanks and sorry for the delay in answering but I've had to swap my p.c. for a notebook and this prevented me access to the lounge for a couple of days.
I've set the CanGrow and CanShrink properties of text22 both to yes but, as you can see from the attached file, the control doesn't automatically adjust vertically to preview all the data the control contains (as they say it should do in on-line help).
Do you know why?

Re: Stratospheric thinking

I've actually been offline myself for the last 5 days due to moving house (serious Lounge withdrawal was starting to set in ).
I had a quick look at your report but Text22 does grow to accommodate the data when I preview it. What version of Office are you running? (it's not listed as a bug in the SR1/1a fixes)

Re: Stratospheric thinking

As you can see, I can send you messages but if I try to attach a file (91 k in this case) and click on "Post It", I see the blue progress bar in I.E. 5.5 expand very slowly and after a couple of minutes I get the message "Cannot find server" on the button relevant to I.E. on the task bar and the page says "The page cannot be displayed. The page you are looking for is currently unavailable. The Web site might be experiencing technical difficulties, or you may need to adjust your browser settings"
What do you think the cause is?

What kind of connection are you on? If it's dialup, you might try exiting IE, hanging up the connection and then reconnecting. Sometimes you get a noisy line or heavy traffic. Even with a DSL or T1 or cable line, you can hit internet traffic heavy enough to cause a problem like this, or the server may be experiencing heavy traffic at just that moment.

Re: Stratospheric thinking

I've tried again this morning to send the message with 91k attachment but I keep on getting the same messages mentioned in my previous post. I access the Lounge through my company's intranet and this is the first time I'm trying to send messages with attachment since I swapped my p.c. for a notebook and since I had to reinstall I.E. 5.5 I wonder if I have to tweak some of the settings to make the process work; I noticed that the response page I get when I try to send the attachment says, among other things, "you may need to adjust your browser settings".
Do you know of any setting in I.E. 5.5 which could make it work?
If you don't, I'll go to my town's library on Tuesday evening and try and send it from there . That should clear things out.

Have you checked to make sure your settings are in line with the optimum browser settings for the Lounge? Have you also checked with your network administrator to be sure they don't have some kind of filter on the system? I started running into SuperScout screens the other day and discovered that some sites had apparently been blocked from work, through why those in particular remains a mystery.

Nth try.....
Anyway, if you click on the Edit... button on the Issues form of the attached file and then click on the OK button, you get the following message,"Run-time error '2465': Issue Tracking Application can't find the field 'helplinklabel' referred to in your expression.
Do you know why?

Hi,
Do you want to email it to me and I'll post it for you? (assuming your email is working?)

Re: Stratospheric thinking

it sounds like it can't resolve helplinklabel. Check to see if you actually have a control or field with that name. It gives this message when what it actually means is that it doesn't recognize something it thinks should be an object but it can't figure out what. Don't forget to check the SQL in comboboxes, listboxes, etc., and in underlying queries.

And it works!

Some confounded rascal in my firm probably messed with the attachment file-type authorization when sending files through a web page but let bygones be bygones, got no time for a full investigation.
Now you don't have to grope in the dark to find an answer to my problem.
Thank you for trying even without the attachment, you're a doll!

Hi,
The label on your issues form has a space at the start of its name - i.e. it's actually called " helplinklabel" not "helplinklabel" which is why you're getting the error.
Hope that helps.
Regards,
Rory

I'm ashamed!

But I can always chalk it up to the stress of putting my network connection straight
Speaking of labels and text boxes; is it possible to concatenate text with field value within a text box in a report?
Check text11 in Mediegio Query report in the file attached; I get the following error message: Syntax error in query expression 'First(["Produz].[" & [Anno]])'.
