    Expression Builder (Access 2000)

    I have built the following expression;

    =(([txtDeltaT1]*[txtEnergyEquival1])-[txtE11]-[txtE21]-[txtE31]-[txtE41])/(1000*[txtSampleMass1])

    Sometimes the values txtE11, txtE21, txtE31 and txtE41 are blank and should not be used but then Access will not calculate unless it has all the fields. Do I have to write a giant IF statement to make this work?

    Thanks

    You can replace [txE11] with Nz([txtE11],0) etc. The Nz function returns its first argument, unless that is Null (blank, missing), then it returns its second argument.
