    SEQ Problem (Wd2003)

I am a novice field user trying to sequence B000L02 to B999L02 and placing the results on Avery 8167 labels, 80 per sheet. I am using Word's Letters and Mailings | Envelopes and Labels... I used the field B{ SEQ A # 000}L02 . The first 80 labels printed perfectly. How do I print the next 12 pages? For the next page I used the field B{ SEQ A # 080}L02 , it printed B081L02 - B189L02 then jumped to B180L02 - B189L02, B289B02 etc.
Since that didn't work...I tried Excel 2003 in the hope of doing a merge. I tried to autofill A1 Number, A2 B000L02 , A3 B001L02 . The autofill sequenced the last two digits instead of the middle digits.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks, Jack

The # switch specified a number format. To force the numbering to start at a specified number, use the r switch. { SEQ A r 81 # 000 } will start the numbering at 081.

    Thanks Hans,
    The /r switch, B{ SEQ A r 81 # 000 }L02 , did not sequence the field. It printed a full page of B081L02 labels.

You should use the r 81 switch only once, in the first label on the page. If you put it in every label, the sequence will start at 80 again and again.

I think SEQ should keep counting forever without any need to reset its starting point -- if you copy the table from the first page to all the other pages. Does that work??
