    Merge multiple text boxes (2002 (XP) & 2003)

    When I scan a document with multiple columns directly into Word the text is broken up in to individual text boxes, mostly one box per paragraph but sometimes two or three paragraphs in a single box.

    I would like to get all the text out of the boxes and back to the original columnised (or should that be

    In the thread starting at <post#=481696>post 481696</post#>, selecting the entire document (Ctrl+A) and applying Normal style helped, and pressing Ctrl+Q would probably have helped too. Does that work for you (try it out on a copy of the scanned document)?

    Thanks, Hans. I did a search on "merge text box" so missed this.

    Hi Hans,

    FYI, and anyone else who refers to this thread, this sort of works but a better option is the Crtl+A and change the Style to "Normal" as suggested later in the original thread. In the page I tested we changed the text back to
    Granville
