    'Can Grow' format (report) (2000)

    Is there any way to change formatting in a text box in a report such that if the box "grows" to a second line, that the second line could have a hanging indent? Or is there some other means of accomplisheing the same thing?

    Text boxes in Access have no paragraph formatting capability. Perhaps it could be done with a rich textbox control, but they are a royal PITA to work with. In short, I don't think there is an easy way to do what you want. Sorry.

    Is there a way, in a label report to output two sets of records meeting a certain criterion? In other words, if the value in the field "Media" is "DVD" or "Video", output two copies of those records, but only one of everything that is not "DVD" or "Video".

    (This is a rather different question that has little to do with the original one.)

    - Open the report in design view.
    - Click on the gray bar at the top of the Detail section, or in an empty part of the Detail section.
    - Activate the Event tab of the Properties window.
    - Click in the On Print event.
    - Select [Event Procedure] from the dropdown list.
    - Click the ... to the right of the dropdown arrow.
    - Make the code look like this:

    Private Sub Detail_Print(Cancel As Integer, PrintCount As Integer)
    ' Are we printing a label for a DVD or Video?
    If Me.Media = "DVD" Or Me.Media = "Video" Then
    ' If so, is this the first time round?
    If PrintCount = 1 Then
    ' Repeat this record
    Me.NextRecord = False
    End If
    End If
    End Sub

    Re: 'Can Grow' format (report) (2000)

    When using the following code to print two copies of labels that are "DVD" or "VID" (as opposed to books, e.g.):

    Private Sub Detail_Print(Cancel As Integer, PrintCount As Integer)
    ' Are we printing a label for a DVD or Video?
    If Me.Media = "DVD" Or Me.Media = "Video" Then
    ' If so, is this the first time round?
    If PrintCount = 1 Then
    ' Repeat this record
    Me.NextRecord = False
    End If
    End If
    End Sub

    How do I "reset" the PrintCount to 0 if I need to reprint or print a second copy? I probably would want it to reset itself every time the report is run...

    PrintCount is initialized by Access automatically when the report is opened, and updated as the report is formatted. There is no need to set or reset PrintCount yourself.

    Re: 'Can Grow' format (report) (2000)

    Thanks--one last thing:

    After I run the report that prints the labels, then I would like the "processed" field in either the query on which the report is based, or on the data entry form, or in the table where the data is stored, to be set as "processed"--this is a yes/no field in the table, and a checkbox on the form and in the query...

    If I have understood this thread correctly, your report will usually display/print more than one record. Do you want to set the Processed field to Yes in all those records?
