Lounge and Pocket IE

Sometimes in the evening I pop into the Lounge and have a look at what is happening. I usually have a look in using my Wifi Ipaq. The other day I saw something I wanted to reply to . I was able to get to the Reply aspect of the post and when I sent it I got a Lounge Error telling me it could not be sent as there was nothing in the Subject header ( even though there was from the previous post).

I can send PM's, change info in my control panel and other functional aspects of the Lounge, just not send posts. I imagine that this is a "problem" with Pocket IE but is there a way that this could be rectified your end easily?

PS when I log on Who's Online tells me I am running IE4 if that helps

Re: Lounge and Pocket IE

I've posted using the Blazer browser on a Treo 600 (PalmOS), so I the Lounge software can handle some pretty strange (and slow!) browsers. Maybe there is a problem with "Pocket IE" losing the field data? I guess if you see it on the screen then that isn't the problem. Hmmm... can you Preview your post successfully?

Thanks Jeff

I am at work at moment so can't check as I my Ipaq is not recognised on the network here. I have not checked the preview option yet, I'll try that tonight and get back to you <img src=/S/cheers.gif border=0 alt=cheers width=30 height=16>

I would still like to see if it can be sorted out as there is some form development project work being undertaken at work and I would hate to see the same thing happen as it may mean we will have to buy non Windows CE PDA's

I get the same error from my iPAq running Pocket PC 2003 (or whatever it's called). Trying to preview the post gives the same error too.

Thanks Stuart

You can tell it's a rubbish film tonight <img src=/S/doze.gif border=0 alt=doze width=15 height=15> This is beginning to tell me that it is Pocket IE. I posted a question here a few weeks ago about upgrades but there are none available that I know about and as there were no replies from the Lounge either.

It just seems strange that the Lounge can pick up data from fields that are used in PM's and they can be sent quite happily but not for Board messages.

<P ID="edit" class=small>(Edited by jscher2000 on 11-Jun-05 10:40. )</P>Do you happen to know the UserAgent string for your browser? Maybe you can copy and paste that into a PM for consideration in case the Lounge is serving a strange page to Pocket IE. This page will reveal what your browser is telling the Lounge server: http://jscher2000.home.att.net/lounge/agentinfo.html

Added: Info from Jezza's PM:
<UL>UserAgent=Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 4.01; Windows CE; PPC; 240x320)
Application=Microsoft Pocket Internet Explorer
Code Name=Mozilla
Version=4.0 (compatible; MSIE 4.01; Windows CE; PPC; 240x320)
Platform=WinCE
If I were programming the browser detection, that would confuse me. <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>

Re: Lounge and Pocket IE

For comparison, here's from the Treo 600:
<UL>UserAgent=Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows 95; PalmSource; Blazer 3.0) 16;160x160
Application=Blazer
Code Name=Mozilla
Version=4.0
Platform=PalmOS
Windows 95?? <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>
