Is the Analysis Toolpak add-in installed, i.e. is its check box ticked in Tools | Add-Ins...?

There is a difference between "y" and "Y", they are not the same. SInce none of your items is equal to "Y" or "N" they will never be "TRUE"
    Try something like:
    =IF(Upper(F2)="N",NETWORKDAYS(A2,E2),"N/A")

to make entering n or N immaterial. The same applies for y or Y

I don't have Excel 2000, but in Excel 2002, comparisons are case insensitive. "y" and "Y" are considered equal, as are "n" and "N".

    Hi,
Was the add-in loaded when you entered the formula or did you load it afterwards, in which case you may need to just select the cell with the formula, press f2 and then enter just to recalculate. Also, just to check, it is the analysis toolpak add-in you have loaded rather than the analysis toolpak - VBA add-in? (or loading both will be fine)
Finally, if you choose Insert-Function, does Networkdays appear under the Date & Time category and does it work if you simply try using it on its own in a cell?
    Regards,

    Re: Networkdays not working (2000)

Can you tell us why you thing it is not working. On my system XL2K, H2 displays "N/A" and I2 displays 4. Those are exactly what I would expect them to display.
