Add Folder to Places (6.0.2800.1106 SP1)

When you select File/SaveAs you get a dialog box with a list of folders in a window on the left of the dialog box. Is there any way to add folders to that list?

Check several of the links in this Google Search: add folder to places bar.

Thanks, but I can't see where any of those apply to the Places Bar in Internet Explorer. They all seem to refer to the MS Office Places Bar. I have already added my folders to the MS Office Places Bar, and that did not add them to the Internet Explorer Places Bar.

If I remember correctly, you're using Windows XP nowadays. TweakUI for Windows XP lets you customize the Places Bar - it can be found under Explorer. You can download TweakUI from Microsoft PowerToys for Windows XP.

No, they still have not removed the Registration Wizard from XP, so I am still using W2K. Before I go find and download it, will Tweakui for W2k also modify it?

<img src=/S/gramps.gif border=0 alt=gramps width=20 height=20>As far as I can remember, W2K is also customisable - a Registry hack (not remembered) is also possible. N.B. you can only replace one of the existing 5 places. The increase to 10 places is only possible with the Office Common Dialog Control. HTh

I think so, yes - it should be under the Open tab.

You can also edit the registry - see this article.

Thanks. TweakUI did what I wanted.
