If Criteria (2000)

Sorry its me again!
On the attached spreadsheet, I wish to enter "Yes" in cell E12 if the "Start Date" in G7 is more than 3 months from today's date. If there is a leaving date in G8 that is less than 3 months from the start date, I would like E12 to be blank. If the leaving date is more than 3 months from the from the start date I would like "Yes" still to appear E12.
If there is no leaving date Yes shoud be entered.
Obviously I will need to copy the formula into F12 and G12, amending the period.

Thanks for your help.

The workbook you attached doesn't seem to fit the description in your post. There is no start date in G7 or leaving date in G8. Moreover, I don't understand your description. If the start date is more than three months away from today and the leaving dat is less than three months away from the start date, you want a cell to contain "Yes" and be blank at the same time, it seems. Can you explain more clearly and completely what you want?

Hi Garry

I think I know what you are after, does the attached do what you want?

Re: If Criteria (2000)

My apologies, I stupidly deleted some rows and columns after I had typed the description.
Let me try again.

What I am trying to achieve in cell B8 is "Yes" if today is more than 3 months after the "Start Date" entered in Cell D3. But if the "Leaving Date" in cell D4 is within 3 months of the "Start Date" cell B8 is left blank.

However if the "Leaving Date" in Cell D4 is more than 3 months from the "Start Date" "Yes" is still returned in B8.
For cells C8 and D8 the answer would relate to 6 months and 1 year after the "Start Date".

I have re-attached the spreadsheet with the answers I would expect to see typed in the cells.
Hopefully I have explained what I am looking for more clearly.
Thanks for your patience.

Best regards
Garry

Thanks Tony that is exactly what I want!

I actually thought the answer would be a lot simpler, now I know why I couldn't work it out.

And thanks to Hans as well.

All the best

Hi Garry

Looking at it again I have a revised formula, slightly shorter and simpler.

=IF(DATEDIF($D$3,IF(ISNUMBER($D$4),$D$4,TODA Y()),"m")>=3,"YES","")
