    Filter by Form (Access 2003)

Is there any way to open a form with all fields empty (just exactly like "FILTER BY FORMS") so that the user can fill in whatever they want to filter by. (The user doesn't want to click the Filter by Forms button. They want the form to open in that mode automatically.)

Open the form in design view.
Activate the Event tab of the Properties window.
Click in the On Open event.
Select [Event Procedure] from the dropdown list.
Click the ... button to the right of the dropdown arrow.
Make the code look like this:

    Private Sub Form_Open(Cancel As Integer)
    RunCommand acCmdFilterByForm
    End Sub

Switch back to Access and save the form.

This helps and it truly is a wonderful and beautiful thing, but, is there any way to get the apply filter icon ON the form itself instead of using the toolbar?

No, for all command buttons on a form are disabled in Form Filter. Sorry.
