    Re: Outlook (2003)

This is one of the problems in using Word as your editor. Think about NOT using it.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

    Re: Outlook (2003)

It happens when I do not use Word as the email editor. If, when I first open Outlook and I open a Word attachment, it seems OK for a while. If, on the other hand, I do something else first, such as "clean out junk mail, then it will take a long time to open a Word attachment. I have looked at processes, ram usage, and etc. but nothing seems to be using resources.

Outlook uses a little corner (actually, a subdirectory) of IE's Temporary Internet Files folder as its cache. Could the Outlook or overall IE cache folder be overflowing? That shouldn't happen within two hours, of course, but... maybe it's worth a look.

Word attachments slow to open (Outlook 2003)

Subject edited by HansV to be more descriptive than just 'Outlook'

When Outlook is open for an hour or two, any email Word attachment opens very slow; up two minutes to open. The processor is not working hard nor is the HD. If I reboot, the attachment opens quickly. MS Word opens quickly. Have 1G Ram.
