Minor 'Print Preview' problem in Firefox (1.0.4)

    Tony

As my unofficial Firefox guru, I wonder whether you have come across, or heard mentioned, a minor problem with Firefox's Print Preview, which seems to remove the blank just in front of a hyperlink? Onscreen viewing AND actual printing give the correct results. The problem is just with Print Preview -- and it may just be in this web page. However, a couple of tests on other web pages seem to give slightly wonky results (e.g. a print preview of this post itself!)!

    Thanks

    Hi John

There are some bugs in print preview that are waiting to be fixed and this is one of them - Bug 271944 - Print Preview skews links and tag output

Yes, further experimentation seems to show problems with the location of hyperlinks in the print preview, especially towards the right-hand-side of the page. Rather looks like an old HP printer driver bug with underlines, which occasionally ended up some way away from where they were supposed to be!

    Thanks

I get the 'problem' of it losing the space before the link as you mentioned in your first post - are you now saying you have a problem with the underline of the link as well?

Try Tony's post in Print Preview.

On my box, the underline extends to the descender of the "p" at the end of the link, leaving most of the p plus "ut" non-underlined. (But I don't think I'm going to return to IE as a result of the micro-problem...!).

Not in my preview - perhaps it's related to font size.

Lately I've noticed "gaps" where the preview seems to know it isn't supposed to display a tag but leaves space for it anyway. The attached example involves [i] tags. Maybe it's telling me to switch to [i] instead? <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>
