    Text Alignment

Is it possible to align text vertically on a form so that it will run along the edge of the page when printed?

The labels in 97 don't seem to have a vert align property to set - how do you do it in 2000?

Also, the text would come from the control "last name" - labels are not able to inherit this text, are they??

    Re: Text Alignment

Labels don't "inherit" anything. They have a caption property that can be set in code, but they are not dynamic like textboxes because they can't be bound to a data field. Labels in Access 2000 have a vertical property that causes the text to be rotated 90 degrees. That property wasn't available in 97 and the only suggestion I could make would be either a third-party control or possibly using WordArt in word to create a label image, saving it as a graphic file and then using that on your form or report. I think the appearance you're trying to get would take far more effort than it's worth in Access 97.

I would like to rotate the entire report, controls and all, 180 degrees. The report needs to go through the printer in reverse orientation. I have read this thread but it does not seem to address bound controls. Do you know of any other 3rd party vendors. Thank you

I'm sorry, but that doesn't make any sense to me. Why would you need to print it bottom to top when you could just turn the paper around? <img src=/S/confused.gif border=0 alt=confused width=15 height=20> I must be missing part of the explanation. What exactly are you trying to accomplish?

    Re: Text Alignment

Are you taking about a landscape mode printout? or do you really mean 180 degrees.
Or, just a thought, are you double sided printing somewhere and the printer can't rotate the paper?

    Re: Text Alignment

The problem is that there is a pre-printed label. They are having a printing problem because the full page label is jamming in the printer. Therefore, each control needs to be on a specific spot on the page. If you turn the page around, each control will not be in the exact location. The text will appear upside down and in the wrong place.

If the preprinted label jams the printer how will turning the report upside down help? Won't the printer still jam?

It is a peel off label. There previous label had more space between the peel off part and the edge of the paper. The other end of the paper has more space.
