    Requery (2003)

I am inputting transactions into a continuous subform. I have another subform that is generating a balance of the transactions which is controlled by a 2 part query. I would like to have the balance update as I enter new transactions. Currently it is updating when I go to the next record and go back. I tried a requery of the subform but have not been successful.

    Re: Requery (2003)

The query looks at the records on disk. While you are entering a record in the first subform, the record hasn't been saved to disk yet, so the query doesn't "see" it. You could save the record each time a field is modified, but that could have unwanted side effects, for example disabling or limiting the undo capabilities for the user.
