    Hi Patrick

    On the chart right click on the x-axis and select "Format Axis...", go to the number tab and select "General" in the category section, click OK and it should change to you want.

    Double click the x-axis to display the Format Axis dialog.
    Activate the Number tab.
    Select General.
    Click OK.

    You need to convert the cells containg the years to dates. You currently have the years entered as numbers and in the chart those are formatted as dates. 1/1/1901 plus 2002 days is in the year 1905. So are 1/1/1901 plus 2003 and 2004. Enter the dates in the worksheet as 1/1/2002, 1/1/2003, and 1/1/2004. Then format the cells with the custom format "yyyy". Then you will get the attached.

    I have a graph here that is very simple, I just cant label the x axis 2002, 2003, 2004
    what am I doing wrong
