    Icon Text (xpsp2)

When I insert a background picture on the desktop the text under the Icons changes color from black to white, even though the background remains light gray. Is there a way to get the Icon text to change back to black?
    Thanks,
    Dave

Perhaps have a look at these two Technet Articles,
<!mskb=305117>Microsoft Knowledge Base Article 305117<!/mskb> "Desktop icons and icon labels may not display background transparency or the drop shadow effect in Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP"
    and
<!mskb=310543>Microsoft Knowledge Base Article 310543<!/mskb> "How to Change the Font, Size, and Colors of Desktop Items"
to see if there's anything that might help?

And here is a thread on another bulletin board.

And here is a program which purports to do this sort of thing...

    John
    <font face="Script MT Bold"><font color=blue><big><big>John</big></big></font color=blue></font face=script>

    Ita, esto, quidcumque...

Thanks for the tips. I had tried the second tip with no luck. But the first one did the trick. Nothing like burying display settings in the systems settings. Must be a MS thing.
