    Re: Need to stop Frontpage from overwriting forms!

    Earlier versions of FP (I haven't tried 2003) included a special "webbot" tag that was supposed to insulate manually coded HTML/ASP from being changed by FP. You would surround your code like this:

    <!- - webbot bot="HTMLMarkup" startspan -->

    Your markup goes here -- comment tags "broken" to enable posting in the Lounge.

    <!- - webbot bot="HTMLMarkup" endspan -->

    Regarding the specific "junk code" being inserted into your forms, I think you would need to give an example before you could get helpful responses.

    One thing frontpage does is it renames the form name.

    Need to stop Frontpage from overwriting forms! (2003)

    <P ID="edit" class=small>(Edited by WebGenii on 27-Jun-05 15:50. activated links)</P>I'm having trouble with some forms. We were using 2002 but upgraded to 2003 a month ago.

    The form is asp-based and calls on another asp page to do the processing. I have this form outside of the FP web because it's been created w/o Frontpage. What I've done is I sync the rest of the web when making a lot of changes (borders, images, new directories) but otherwise I just publish the modified pages.

    Unfourtunately, it seem Frontpage like to go into the forms and insert junk code. This seems to happen both when I do a sync of the entire site and also when publishing individual files. I then have to reupload the forms aftewards.

    I have a question. Is this normal? What can I do to keep Frontpage's claws off my forms!???!?!?!!?!

    Thank you, Thank you, Thanks

    I found these links. Can someone explain it differently?

    Because the Lounge ignores everything in comment tags, your post probably does not appear the way you planned. You might paste the relevant HTML code into Notepad and post as a .txt file.
