spread sheet values show up on a monthly calendar (office 2003)

Is there a way of having your lab results, for example hemaglobin, hematocrit etc and the drugs given, for example procrit, venofer show up on a monthly graphical calendar on their respective days that results are available and medications given. To more easily see graphically on a calendar how things are progressing and how frequently they are being given etc??? And have the monthly calendar formated for an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet??

There would be a bit of work involved to get this running. You may need to create a list of data first that captures the results of your work and then on a seperate sheet create a excel calendar to plot the data. The data could also be plotted on a XY Scatter chart for graphical effect.

For more info on creating a calendar... see <post#=392858>post 392858</post#>. The post gives links to other posts that show you how to set up a excel calendar!

We will be glad to assist you further as required!

    Rudi:
Thanks, looked at those threads, mainly from 2002 and although complicated, too rudimentary and not what I was hoping for.
Any way to import cells into outlook based on header dates and then let outlook create the calendar??

Do you really need a calendar?

This type of data could be plotted on an XY chart in some fashion (X being the date). For the Y you could plot various results together or do combobox with the selection of the range to plot. You could also add points with data labels to indicate other changes.

The XY seems to be (at least to me) a better way to observe the longer term trends than a calendar could do.

    Hi JR,

With the help of Steve (<!profile=sdckapr>sdckapr<!/profile>) I recall another post that could give you an idea of plotting info on an excel calendar! See the attachment in <post#=474523>post 474523</post#>

Hope this will help a little!
    Regards,
    Rudi

Re: spread sheet values show up on a monthly calendar (office 2003)

    Thanks to all.
I have looked at the all the threads suggested. Nothing easy to let cells in excel flow into a monthly calendar easily.
Guess not an easy work around, as I would need to do it weekly.
Thanks for every ones suggestions I appreciate them.
    Regards
    JR

Re: spread sheet values show up on a monthly calendar (office 2003)

The excel options would be to make a spreadsheet that looks like a calendar and use a macro or formulas to populate (there are plenty of examples linked, and more if you search). If you need specific help, please post back and we can try to help you tweak a "close solution"

To use Outlook's calendars and import excel, is not really an excel question, but may be best handled via Outlook VBA and in that case, replying to the outlook question on this subject (which is linked in this thread) may get some answers from the outlook experts. It might be possible with a simple outlook macro to import the data from the workbook.

Using outlook VB is beyond my VB knowledge base, which is primarily excel VB based.
